You are purchasing one reproduction front brake shackle for Harley-Davidson models from 1928-1929. These are an excellent reproduction right down to the casting number of SF-834 T and the casting hallmark to the left side. These come with nickel plated alemite and standard grease zerks if you prefer the utility of later grease zerks.
I'm a bit confused about the application as the 1928 & 1929 JD as well as early DL and singles shackle has similar dimensions, here are the dimensions of this shackle:
6" overall length
Approx 4 7/8" center to center on the bushing holes
11/16" wide bushings
1/2" deep on the middle of the bar
1/4" bar cross section
5/8" bushing ID (roughly)
The 45 and single shackles were either 5" or 5 1/4" centers, I have no idea how this 1/4" may or may not affect your braking effect and geometry. Please check your own reference material prior to purchasing. Bruce Palmer's updated "How To Restore..." says the 1930-39 shackle is 5.25" center to center but I have seen claimed originals from this era with a 5" center.
