You are purchasing a reproduction of the Monroe shock used on 1946 to 1957 spring fork-equipped twin Harley-Davidson motorcycles including Knucklehead, Panhead, UL, 45" solo, and Servicar models. Shock comes equipped with all mounting hardware. Stamping is as pictured in the photos. Unlike previous reproductions, this one has somewhat authentic stenciling of the original Monroe stamping on the shock. As well, the lower canister on the shock has the three depressions like the originals. The stenciling or stamping on the top shroud is also closer to the original size on these than the prototypes we were selling earlier this year.
The best part is, these shocks have very good dampening on the compression and rebound strokes which makes a huge difference in how your motorcycle handles. By far this is the best repro shock we've seen yet in terms of fit, finish and functionality.
The shock and mounting kit are made overseas. We will be offering a 100% USA made mounting kit in early Feb. 2017. We currently do sell an upper mounting kit consisting of all USA made parts on another listing. All of these parts fit perfect as they should.
