You are purchasing one new old stock OEM Harley-Davidson WLA or WLC black out ignition switch Roller Contact Retainer used on military model motorcycles during WW II.  This is for seven contact switches used from 1941 into 1943 whenever they changed over to the keyless switch as that gained a -44 part number, though I'm not sure what the difference is.  We have more switch parts available, if you don't see them here or cimarroncycleworks, just email and ask.

Excellent condition, there's some rust on the end but will not affect function, push out the cotter key, bead blast this and it will be perfect.  This was a common part to break back in the day so having a spare if you own one of these switches is a very good idea.

I do not know the federal registry numbers this type of switch was used with, but check your "How To Restore Your Military Harley-Davidson" book by Bruce Palmer III or go buy one and see if he mentions it there.   Later, and more common was the 4527-44 switch introduced in 1944 but had the part number stamped in the center of the switch.  Those were used thought the end of WW-II and possibly in to post-war WLA models.  

Used on the following:
  • 1941-1943 constructed WLA or WLC models under the 1942 WLA or 1943 WLC contracts with the United States and Canada, will work on any military model has 7 contacts to separate day use and military black-out.
