You are purchasing one USA Made black out relay or field relay wire kit for 1942 Harley-Davidson military WLA models from 1942-1945 production. The relay this fits was introduced during the 1944 production year under the 1942 WLA contract with the US government. This wired in a secondary relay that was used to boost the field coil power from the generator when the blackout lights were being used. Otherwise the battery would drain after extended use. This kit, as with all our reproduction wiring products are manufactured with pride by hand at our shop in Cimarron, New Mexico, USA.
Note that the ring terminal has the wire threaded through it's barrel, wrapped around the back and soldered in place as original.
Includes a wiring instruction packet with a copy of the original wiring diagram.
We do manufacture the most correct and complete WLA wiring kit available today on another listing which includes all the radio-suppression pieces including the woven ground strap from the coil to the frame and motor and an NOS coil to timer wire. Includes the following:
-4704-44 ground wire (shorter black wire with flag terminal on one end and 1/4" ring terminal on the other
-4705-44 blackout wire (long wire in conduit)
-4706-44 black out "field switch' wire (red/black)
